great eucalypt

eucalyptus mannifera

perhaps three metres at its widest. it grows by the side of the trail and leans out across the downward slope, tapering into a dead, hollow crown. three thick branches growing from its topside open into a healthy canopy. the hollow chamber at its base has a wide opening.
